Shibarium Scaling Final Update Goes Live: Dev Announcement

  • Shyoshi Kusama recently released the Shibarium scaling solution’s final update.
  • The lead developer conveyed his gratitude towards the members of Polygon and Unification networks.
  • According to the post, Shibarium has reached over 65,000 wallets and 350,000 transactions.

Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of the Shiba Inu ecosystem released an official blog post announcing the final update of the layer 2 blockchain scaling solution, Shibarium, on Monday. The lead developer conveyed the team’s gratitude to the blockchain platforms that supported the network including Polygon and Unification, and revealed Shibarium’s milestones of over 65,000 wallets and 350,000 transactions.

Following the launch of Shibarium, the layer 2 scaling solution experienced a series of hurdles, causing anxiety among the community. As per reports, over $1.5 million worth of ETH was locked in Shibarium. Subsequently, Kusama published a post clarifying the matter and dismissing the accusation as misleading FUD. The developer also shed light on the “fake posts” that several news outlets were releasing.

Kusama assured that the funds are safe and the scaling solution is market ready, reiterating a statement by Shiba Inu founder Ryoshi that read, Those who build in the bear market, will win in the bull market”. The developer also extended his gratitude to everyone “who fought the fud and ignored the misinformation posted on multiple news sites recklessly”. Extending his gratitude to Polygon, the lead developer acknowledged the efforts of Sandeep Nailwal, Polygon’s co-founder and chief operating officer:

I need to give explanation and a huge thank you to thePolygon team. Quickly after the incident began, I called Sandeep from Polygon directly and without a second thought, he helped provide additional resources to ensure a perfect outcome to the situation. And that, is why our pivot to fork Polygon was the correct one.

Citing information on Shibarium Bridge and tokens, Kusama pointed out that the SHIB, LEASH, and WETH withdrawals via the bridge would take a minimum of 2 “Checkpoints”, that is, 45 minutes to 3 hours. He added that the withdrawal of BONE would take up to 7 days.

Over the past few months, the Shibarium team has been providing updates on the scaling solution. In a recent tweet, Kusama declared that the protocol is “almost ready” to relaunch, in an attempt to tackle the widespread FUD and assure its community about the Shibarium launch.
